You’ve assembled the recipe items and jumped ahead in haste.
You forgot the main ingredient! Without it, the meal cannot be made.
We were made for someone outside us.
Therefore, apart from Him, we will always be dissatisfied.
“Nothing ever makes you/me/them happy.”
“I don’t know what it is. Somehow, I just don’t want to live.”
These are ways you must feel when you have overlooked the main ingredient.
Designed for Him, but with fellowship broken by sin, we’re always looking for an outside fix.
This isn’t it. That isn’t it.
Much of life passes with hidden exasperation, “What am I looking for?”
Your answer has always been Him.
Once only outside of us, God has shown that He craves to be with you and in you[r spirit] (James 4:5).
All because of His love for you. He wants to know you!
Only Christ can satisfy your hunger and thirst. He is meat and drink (John 6:55).
He is your Life (John 6:32-35, John 14:6, Col 3:4, Phil 1:21, 2 Tim 1:1).
Without Him, you will perish (John 15:6).
But, He is Life from the dead.
“(37b) In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come to Me, and drink. (38) He who believes on Me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly [hole/empty place] shall flow rivers of living water.” John 7:37b-38
