We’re familiar with and probably good at Bible Bowl trivia.
This is the test we want and hope to take. Those with the best grades sit on the left and right hands of Jesus.
God’s not interested in trivia and won’t give this test.
It’s not, knowing about God that saves.
It’s being known by God and knowing Him.
“(21) Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. (22) Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name? And in Your Name cast out devils? And in Your Name done many wonderful works? (23) And then I will profess to them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you who work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23
He’s the grader of His test.
If you know Him the way He wants, you’ll avoid the negatives and enjoy Him in His victories inside and outside of you.
“In flaming fire taking vengeance on them who do not know God, and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:” 2 Thessalonians 1:8
“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and reprobate to every good work.” Titus 1:16
“He, who says he remains in Him, walks like He did.” 1 John 2:6
“He who does not love does not know God; for God is love.” 1 John 4:8
But, isn’t God sovereign to eternally save? Yes, if you come in by faith and go out in faith.
“(19) You will say, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. (20) Well; they were broken off because of their unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be high-minded, but fear: (21) If God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you. (22) Behold the goodness and severity of God: severity on them who fell through unbelief; but goodness toward you, if you continue in His goodness through faith: otherwise you also shall be cut off.” Romans 11:19-22
“When the Son of man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8b
