“Someone I know wants to be introduced to you.”
You were excited to hear that and wondered who this mysterious person was. Where had they seen you? Why did they want to meet you?
“It may sound strange, but this person is crazy about you and wants to court you.”
Someone cannot love you if you don’t know them.
Man or woman, we long to be loved and to love.
We long to be desired, to be sought.
We long to be special.
We love the stories of the princess and the knight in shining armor.
We love the hero and the heroine.
We long to be loved by someone so strongly that they’d die for us, and us for them.
We long to hear the words that life would not have been worth living if we had not lived.
The sun rose and set on us because of the love of one.
The time for the introduction comes.
The scarred One Who gladly bears them, the nails and the spear.
The One Who was beaten mercilessly for His love for me.
The One Who laid down His life to rescue me from certain death.
Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today to join these two in holy matrimony.
Will you take Him?
Will you love, honor and hold fast to Him?
Because He is worthy. He is so worth it.
The sun rises and sets because of Him, for He made it and sustains it.
He’s my life.
And I love Him.
I will love Him forever.
I trust Him, whatever may come.
“I will betroth you to Me forever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving-kindness, and in mercies.” Hosea 2:19
“(2) And the Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory: and you shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name. (3) You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. (4) You shall no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall your land anymore be termed Desolate: but you shall be called Hephzibah [My delight], and your land Beulah [you belong to Me!]: for the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married. (5) For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you: and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.” Isaiah 62:2-5
“Therefore, my kindred, you died to the law by the body of Christ; that you could be married to Him Who has risen from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit to God.” Romans 7:4
